Description
Ecotech is a progressive, through-body, porcelain tile created from primarily recycled material. The concept behind Ecotech was to create a proactive way to support ecological sustainability and environmental stewardship by re-employing the powder, body and scrap left over from the processing of other products.

Colors & Finishes
The series is made up of four colors Ecolight, Ecogrey, Ecogreen and Ecodark. Each color is offered with a matte and textured finish.

Sizes
All colors and finishes are available in the standard nominal sizes: 8"x16" (7.87"x15.75"), 16"x16" (15.75"x15.75"), 16"x32" (15.75"x30.50"), 24"x24" (23.62"x23.62"), and 24"x48" (23.62"x47.24") with a thickness of 7/16" (11mm). Tiles with a thickness of 9/16" (15mm) are offered in 8"x16" (7.87"x15.75") and 16"x16" (15.75"x15.75") tiles for heavy industrial flooring applications. In addition, there is a 2"x2" (5x5 cm) mosaic with a matte finish, plus a bullnose and stair treads.

Applications
Ecotech is highly durable, slip resistant material requiring very little maintenance. It is suitable for interior and exterior walls and floors including heavy traffic commercial floors. When properly installed, Ecotech meets or exceeds industry standards for slip resistance. All tiles are rectified allowing for tight grout joints. Click to see installation photos.

Recycled Content
Materials normally sent to disposal companies are the base ingredients in the mix of Ecotech. Approximately 70% of the materials consist of post industrial recycled material. The mix consists of 25% baked by-products, 20% raw by-products and powders, 20% industrial water, and 5% sludge. The baked by-products are tiles separated at the end of the production process due to superficial defects. Raw by-products are created during the pressing, drying and glazing phases and the powders are generated during the pressing and mixing stage. Both are primarily clay, feldspar and sand. Industrial water refers to the water derived from the grinding and atomization mixture departments, grinding of glaze, and the glazing process. The sludge is particulate matter that has been separated from water used in the production process.

Installation and Maintenance
Tiles can be installed using standard installation methods for thinset adhesives. Recommended grout width is 1/16" or wider. Use high quality adhesive and grout from such manufacturers as Laticrete and Mapei, following manufacturers' recommendations, depending on conditions. Clean regularly with mild neutral detergent.
