Pietra Bedonia is a feldspathic sandstone with depth, movement,
subtle tonal variation and a hint of a luster.
Why has Pietra Bedonia been used in Italian architecture for
centuries and why does it contribute so beautifully to modern design?
-
With quartz as its most common substance (25.8%),
it has high abrasion resistance.
-
Due to intense metamorphic activity, it is a relatively dense sandstone.
-
It is frost resistant, making it suitable for cold weather
applications.
-
Because the stone is primarily siliceous, it can resist etching
from common cooking acids when used for countertops and can
withstand acid rainfall when used as exterior cladding and paving.
-
In addition to countertops and exterior applications, Pietra
Bedonia is also suitable for interior walls and floors, stairs,
windowsills, furniture pieces and high traffic applications,
as well as complex, cut-to-size projects.
-
The stone has moderately low absorption and will resist staining
when treated with a high quality impregnator such as Stonetech
Professional Bulletproof Sealer.
-
Pietra Bedonia is stocked in: 16"x16" tiles, 12"x24" tiles,
and 3/4" slabs and 1 1/4" slabs.
Pietra Bedonia can be most appreciated when viewed as a larger
field. See this natural stone in its best light at
